The exclusive Supercarsclub Arabia organises two tours every year for its members and Surrey-based event planners MGN Events was approached by the club to arrange the launch party and closing ceremony for its 12-day European tour, Euroabia, which was to start and finish in the UK. Services for the event had to include end to end event management, including venue finding, delegate management, production and event design.
Since delegates were travelling from all over the world to take part, including many from the UAE, the venue needed to be within easy reach from London airports. Finding a suitable location that also offered easy road access to the Channel Tunnel, in order to get to France, was also a key consideration. The cars themselves also presented an interesting logistical challenge – secure parking for the 18 supercars that would be taking part in the tour was an absolute essential.
Where would be more appropriate to hold a motor-themed event than Brooklands in Surrey with its rich motor racing heritage. The independent and boutique Brooklands Hotel was the perfect luxurious venue in which to host both events – it tied in perfectly with the motoring theme and also offered sufficient space outside to create a real spectacle and exciting atmosphere for onlookers.
Success largely rested on ensuring a high quality experience that would reflect the brand reputation of Supercarsclub Arabia and that of the event sponsors – with luxury brands such as Harrods involved, the event had to stand up to close scrutiny by brand managers that needed to be confident that their brands were associated with the right type of event.
MGN’s design team came up with a clean and stylish concept and dressed the hotel’s reception and event spaces so that delegates would feel like true racing champions – from the white carpet entrance and branded flags to the sponsors board that provided a backdrop for photographs and glamorous hostesses. Supercarsclub Arabia’s film of Euroabia, features footage of the launch party and closing ceremony for club members and sponsors and gives just a small snapshot of each event. The launch weekend also attracted hundreds of people keen to catch a glimpse of so many supercars in one place at the same time – a million-pound Bugatti Veyron was a particular draw – and Brooklands Hotel welcomed everyone who wanted to be part of the experience.
At each event delegates and sponsors enjoyed an overnight stay with dinner at Brooklands Hotel. And naturally, the fleet of supercars were looked after with absolute care and attention for the duration.
