We've introduced some of the key members of the team here at Brooklands Hotel but we thought you'd like to get to know them a little better. Next up, it's Dalia Doval, who is our Meetings & Events Operations Manager. Dalia is the person that guests see when they are here for their event; be it conference, meeting, party or dinner. Nicole & her team handle everything prior to the event itself but its Dalia on the floor delivering the event and she’s been doing this for the past 5 years.

Dalia has worked on so many events at the hotel and can’t pick out a particular favourite as every event is completely different, which means every day is completely different! The majority of events run without a hitch but one Christmas, one of the DJs we had booked didn’t arrive leaving us without one for one of our Christmas joiner parties. Luckily, Dalia sourced a DJ who arrived from Soho just after starters had been served so was all set up ready to party when guests had finished their three course meal. They were none the wiser!

Naturally, Dalia will do whatever she can to ‘Make It Happen’ for our guests including ensuring anything containing the colour yellow was removed from the meeting room as we had a guest who was allergic to the colour. Luckily for Dalia, the colour yellow doesn’t feature much in our décor so Dalia just had to replace a couple of pictures from the wall before the event and the guest was fine. One conference didn’t get off to such a smooth start though when Dalia forgot she had a lapel microphone in her pocket and it was switched on. So the delegates were treated to Dalia singing along to the radio whilst they were sitting in there conference. Luckily for us (& for the delegates) Dalia realised what she had done and turned the microphone off pretty quickly. She did wonder why the guests were looking at her strangely when she went in to refresh the room in between sessions though!

The reason Dalia enjoys working in hospitality is simple; it’s enjoyable. All the dynamics of different events mean its always fun. Dalia says "it's a great honour working at Brooklands Hotel with such a talented team of beautiful people".
